The AWSC Education Team is excited to welcome artist Sarah Thornington to host an educational program for youth, 'Crafting a Better World,' to celebrate Earth Month! Sarah is the artist responsible for the current special exhibit at Shark Center Chatham, 'Hope is Not Passive.' Sarah will lead youth through a two hour program exploring how we can do our part to take action and make a difference by cleaning up our local environment. During the program, youth will learn about Sarah's work creating art from beach trash and marine debris, then create their own art utilizing trash and marine debris collected from local beaches.
This is a 2 hour program geared towards students in grades 4 through 7. Each participating youth must have a ticket to participate.
This program offers parents/guardians the option to drop off youth for the duration of the program (1PM to 3 PM). Parents/guardians choosing to drop off youth MUST complete the forms attached to the confirmation email and return them at the start of the program. Parents/guardians not wishing to drop off youth are welcome to stay and observe the program.
